AG THE MATCHBOX JEAN IN a Size 34

How does the denim fit in the waist, crotch, butt and thighs?

This pair of AG Jeans has become my favorite and most comfortable pair of denim.  From the first time I put this pair on I knew there was something special about them.  The waist is snug but has a little bit of give making them easy to move  in . The crotch is perfect, not too low or too snug.  The butt has continued to become more and more form fitting every time I wear them. The thighs have an extremely comfortable fit.

Where would you wear this denim out to?

This pair of AG denim is great because it has two great things: style and comfort. The great look of the denim, makes them easy to dress up and wear out to a club or even to a nice dinner.  They not only look good, but they feel great.  I could hang out in these all day.  AG denim gives you the feeling that it is possible to look great, while at the same time you have the feeling that you are wearing your everyday comfortable denim.  When I have gone out to dinner in these denim I have paired them with a pair of Sperry shoes, a nice shirt and cardigan.  I have also paired this pair of AG denim with a nice pair of dress shoes and a long sleeve button down with the sleeves flipped up and enjoyed my time at some of the night clubs in Las Vegas.

Were you familiar with the brand before the fitting?

I was not familiar with AG before this fitting, but since I have been wearing these denim I have already been looking into getting another pair.  It is not everyday you can find a pair of denim that has not only the look of a nice pair of denim, but also the comfort to become you favorite.

Describe you experience in letting the Denim Guy fit you?  What surprised you in letting someone else fit you for jeans?

Having the Denim Guy fit me was a great experience; I didn’t have to do any work, and he opened my eyes to new fits and brands of denim.  Also by having someone that actually knows denim they can look at you and know what is going to fit you best and will find exactly what you want.

Who did you new jeans make you want to channel?

This pair of AG denim definitely gives me a David Beckham feel, because whenever you see Beckham he always looks good while at the same time he seems to be as comfortable as anyone could be. This is exactly how this AG denim makes me feel every time I put them on.

How does you old denim compare to your new stuff? Any salvation army visits to get rid of the old denim?

This pair of denim has linked together my favorite pair of comfortable denim and my favorite pair of denim to go out in.  So just this one pair of denim at least replaced two pairs of old denim.  Now my old denim are either being given away or chopped up into shorts.

Denim Reviewing: Melting Pot MP001, Straight Cut size 34

When I first put on these jeans they had a unique style that definitely sets them apart from standard jeans.  They gave me a retro James Dean feel that makes slipping into them a fun transformation that almost guarantees an adventure.  These jeans came slightly worn and faded in fact radiating the feelings of comfort and confidence.  These are modern high quality jeans with the look of your classic favorite denim.

The MP001′s have a different feel to them compared to your modern jeans but are easy to fall in love with. The waist and butt have both a very snug feel to them but grant just enough room for freedom without compensating in how fitted they look.  They are a straight cut jean that gives enough freedom in the legs to walk without being squeezed and not look baggy.

I would wear the MP001 jeans around during the day or at night to almost any location.  I really like to match these jeans up with a nice fitted tee and a pair of sneakers.  They may also be worn without a shirt to give you that rugged look while you launch water balloons at your friends in the front yard.

These jeans scream comfort and style, a combination that is definitely sought after.

I believe The Denim Guy matched me on many different levels when pairing me with the MP001 jeans.  I really enjoy wearing the 001′s by Melting Pot and each time I put them on they bring out a new adventure.

How does the denim fit in the waist, crotch, butt and thighs?

This is always generally an issue with my denim. I wear out the inside thigh area pretty quickly. I like to think I have power jumping thighs and a baseball butt (You know, from swinging your thighs around when you swing develops those glutes pretty fast) This might sound kinda nice to have powerful legs, but to find Denim that will fit well and not be baggy is not easy. That’s why I like these Citizens. Always room for a little extra butt.

Where did you wear the denim?

Wore these to a white elephant gift exchange at a sweet Italian restaurant (Buca di Beppo…I love the B&W photos in that place) wore my black denim jacket, black V neck and some dog tags. I wore my hair relaxed… maybe too relaxed, I got more comments on how I should comb my hair then anything else.

How would you style the denim?

I’ve worn this pair a few times and already love how they go with my black denim jacket. I can dress them up with some dress shoes or boots, dress denim for me.

Describe your experience in letting the Denim Guy fit you? What surprised you in letting someone else fit you for denim?

It’s nice to have an expert help you in any aspect of life. I never would have thought a denim expert could really help me much, but you’d be surprised! I’ve already texted him a few times to get advice on pairing different outfits. HA! Plus he understands I can’t fit in skinnies and I don’t do baggy. So he knows me and my style and then works with it.

How did your significant other react to your new denim?

So far she loves my new pair. She hasn’t seen me wear them all that much, but I have a feeling she’ll love these.

How does your old denim compare to your new stuff? Any salvation army visits to get rid of the old denim?

I love my old denim as well. This just helps me be stay away from the laundry room 6 weeks longer.

On a scale of 1-10, what do you think your new bootylicious factor is?

Probably like a 12.4!

How does the denim fit in the waist, crotch, butt and thighs?

DL 1961 really knows how to fit a woman’s body. That basically sums up how I feel about the fit of my Kate Slim Straight denim. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I thought it was impossible to find denim that actually fit both my waist and thigh/booty area. I think most woman face this challenge when searching for that perfect pair of jeans and I think DL 1961 is solving the dilemma. The fit on my denim was form fitting but not too-tight throughout the waist, thighs, booty, and all the way down to the ankle. I also loved the straight leg, as opposed to the super skinny cut. From a fit perspective, it’s a slight variation on recent trends, which I absolutely love.

Where would you wear this denim to?

I wore this denim on all day holiday shopping excursion that followed a long day at work. Because of the nature of my job, I do have look fashionable, but I also have to be ready to go anywhere at the drop of a hat. That said, I love being able to wear nice denim because it’s trendy and comfortable at the same time. Plus, I also wanted to wear something that would be appropriate for battling the crazy holiday crowds. I chose to wear the DL 1961′s I am so glad I did. The stretch in the denim made them perfect for my last minute shopping and the chic wash and cut made them perfect for my morning shoot. I usually have to change my clothes 3-4 times a day, and I’ve grown to hate what I call costume changes. Having one piece that can easily be integrated into various environments makes my day!

How would you style this denim?

I’m a California girl through and through, so I am all about keeping things casual in the style department. That said, I love a pair of jeans that can be dressed up! I think that this denim can be styled in a variety of ways. The dark wash and form-fitting cut works great with knee high boots, booties, flats and even platform pumps. These jeans have great, sturdy belt loops too, which may sound like a silly observation, but some jeans are not meant to be worn with a belt. These however, definitely can be worn with or without a belt, which is great! Overall these DL’s would look awesome with a tunic, a sweater or even a plain white tank. Versatility is in full effect when it comes to styling options!

Describe your experience in letting the Denim Guy fit you?  Were you familiar with the brand before the fitting?

When the Denim Guy gave me this pair of denim, he was 100 percent confident that I would love them. In his experience, he told me, DL 1961 looks amazing on all body types. Of course I took his word for it, because after all he is the professional, and I’m happy to report that once again he is correct! Recently a few of the other TV hosts I work with were wearing DL 1961 denim, and I really loved them, but I’d not tried on a pair until the Denim Guy encouraged me to do so. I love how he is confident about what he’s doing so I don’t have to stress about finding the right size or cut. I know it may seem strange initially to have someone fit you for clothes you wear everyday, but tons of women spend hours, days, and even months getting fitted for wedding gowns that they only wear once. I think that if we all invested just a fraction of that time with the Denim Guy we could look that good every single day-cheesy, but totally true!

Did you get picked up on in your new denim?

Granted, it may not have been the man I was hoping for, but yes everyone, I did get a bit of a cat-call from the garbage collector in my new DL1961′s. And I’m not going to lie, it was actually kind of flattering!

Does your new denim help you channel a new alter ego?

My alter ego in this denim is a woman who can really do it all-that’s what this denim screams. It’s for that everywoman kind of the woman. The college student, the executive, the party animal, the mom, the traveller. When you put them on, you really feel like like you could go anywhere and look great!

How does the denim fit in the waist, crotch, butt and thighs?

Fit in the waist, and thighs are perfect.  I absolutely love the waist.  It’s very flattering and hides all the trouble areas.  Also since it’s high waisted you don’t have to worry about giving the world a free show every time you stand up or sit down. I am totally in love with the color too.

Where would you wear this denim?

I wore this pair of denim to work, and paired it with a black and white striped sweater and some heels. I did get a lot of compliments from co-workers about how cute the denim was.

Describe your experience in letting the Denim Guy fit you?  Were you familiar with the brand before the fitting?

This was my first time encountering Kasil and my first initial reaction when The Denim Guy fitted me for these was that I was channeling my inner hippie.  This particular style of denim is a higher waisted wider leg trouser, so it was a bit awkward at first.  I am not used to wearing anything other than low rise jeans so it definitely took some getting used to.  After putting on a pair of heels though I quickly became attached.

On a scale of 1-10, how hot did you feel walking down the street in your new denim?

On a scale of 1 to 10, walking down the street I’d say I felt like an 8 or 9.  I know the denim just needs to be broken in, like all premium denim.

How does your old denim compare to your new stuff?

Compared to my other brands of premium denim Kasil feels indestructible, and strong.  I am very excited to be introduced to Kasil, and I will definitely be in the market for another pair.  I can’t wait to see all the styles Kasil has to offer.  Thanks Kasil for this amazing opportunity!  Keep up the good work!

How does the denim fit in the waist, crotch, butt and thighs?

HILLARY: To be honest, I was a little nervous about wearing this denim, as it appeared to have less stretch than the other denim. But to my surprise the denim had just enough stretch to fit my curvaceous body just right. The denim fit well in the waist, butt, and thighs, all of which can be a challenge for me when trying new denim.

How does the denim fit in the waist, crotch, butt and thighs?

AUSTIN: They fit well in the waist, crotch, butt and thigh. The waist fits a little loose so I need a belt just to keep them at my waistline. These particular jeans are a straight fit, which is exactly how they fit. There is breathing room from the thigh all the way down to the ankle.

Where would you wear this denim to?

AUSTIN: I haven’t worn these jeans yet. Since they do have an indigo color and white stitching, I plan on saving them for a party on New Year’s Eve. The wash and stiffness of the denim feels like it would suit a more formal setting so a party would be perfect.

HILLARY: I have paired the denim already with a simple tee and heels. The wash and stitching are both unique and I received two compliments on the denim when wearing them out.

How would you style this denim?

AUSTIN: As far as style goes, I have a black and white plaid shirt in mind that would go perfect with the indigo color and white stitching of the denim. I also plan on wearing black boots and rolling the bottom of the jeans to show off the distinguishing stitching of the inside of the jeans.

HILLARY: I love that you call roll this denim up at the bottom for a sophisticated clean look, but also roll the pant  leg down for a straight leg look. Both looks are great!
