Um I have been so busy with things that I totally forgot to post about my new Raw Denim Challenge.  Okay you all know that I am obsessed with wearing some form of raw denim in order to create my own wash. I started with a pair of AG’s 50 Raw Slim then moved to the Hudson Turbo Denim. I was suppose to move back to the AG Raw Challenge after the Hudson pair was done but I lost some weight because of my intense pilates workout that I needed a new pair, so for my 3rd pair I decided to go with the JBRAND Kane in a raw denim  .  Now it has only been 24 days into the challenge and I am starting to see some changes already. See below for some images and details and stay tuned for updates!  And side note… yes they are cut very short… I did this on purpose because I will be wearing this pair into the summer and I wanted the denim to be ankle length. Remember it’s all about the ankle this year!!!

Day 24: You can already see my wallet forming on the back pocket and what surprised me the most was the back knee whiskers are started to form already. That is quick and I LOVE IT!

Day 24: The front business card form is almost there, this one normally takes a while. However, you can also see the the front crotch whiskers are forming and coming along nicely.

It has now been 60 days since I started wearing this great pair of denim from my friends at Lock Sicker and as of my last update these jeans have continued to take on more character. What I like about this challenge and more importantly about this brand of denim is that it has made getting ready so much easier. I don’t have to stare at my shelf of denim trying to figure out what pair to wear! Like I have said before these jeans really do work well in any situation. I’ve worn them to work, client meetings, dinner with friends, BBQ’s, night out on the town and more recently Coachella Music and Arts Festival.

The denim is feeling looser and softening up as I wear them, while still managing to maintain its sturdiness. The whiskers in the front are becoming more prominent and the whiskers behind my knees are increasing. My wallet outline is more noticeable on my back right pocket and you can start to see where my phone lies on the front right pocket.

Despite wearing these jeans everyday I have not had any issues with them smelling. I have had a few accidental spots that I have taken care of with a little bit of water and massaging the spot out with my finger. When I first started wearing the jeans I was very good about hanging them full length to avoid any creases, but since the whisker effect started, I began to like that look, so now when I take my jeans off, where they lie is where I leave them.

Lock Sicker Raw Denim Challenge 30 Day Update

So by now I have been wearing these great pair of Raw Denim from Lock Sicker for 30 days and they are really starting to take on a new look.  When I first got them (click here to see when I first received them) , They were very flat! No wrinkles.  Since my first day they have started to take on some whisker effects in the crotch area and more noticeable behind my legs.

I don’t’ really carry too many things in my pockets, except for my wallet in my back right pocket, phone in my left, and keys on my front left. My wallet outline is starting to show and in time, I am sure it will be more prominent. The jeans are also starting to fit better.  Initially they were a little snug and stiff but after a couple of weeks it felt like they stretched out a bit, and movement in them was a lot easier.

I took my jeans in to get hemmed since they were a little long for my liking. I gave the tailor the spool of thread provided with the jeans. For the hem they cut off a few inches from the bottom and hemmed them to the bottom of my barefoot.  I still have some extra length to play with because I like the roll look without them looking like flood pants.

The First 30 days have shown few but very noticeable changes.  I look forward to seeing what effects take place over the next 60 days.  Stay tuned for more updates on the progress.

YAY! Day 31 is here (well was here, it was last week while I was at PROJECT and I am just getting the time to post the images)! The last 31 days with my HUDSON TURBO DENIM have been amazing and I am very happy with the way they have turned out! So happy that I am going to extend my 31 day challenge to 60 days! I know, I know . . . I am suppose to go back to my 1 year raw denim challenge with my AG’s but honestly the HUDSON’s are changing so quickly that I feel I need to give them 60 more days to really see where they can go. It’s only fair! After 60 days I will go back to my first raw denim challege.

At Project New York last month I kept you updated on my daily outfit from the PROJECT GLOBAL TRADE SHOW. 9:30 am and here is my first outfit for the day! Special Thank You you to Sand Box Studio for getting me in so early!

Hey everyone! I am excited to be back for another project with The Denim Guy, this time for his Day Raw Denim Challenge.  This project involves a new up and coming denim line, Lock Sicker, and after learning about them, I am really excited to be a part of something new.

I recently read about Lock Sicker on this site and I really liked how clean and solid these jeans look.  They have a nice dark color and the stitching design on the back pocket is very simple and not flashy at all, which is on my list of criteria when selecting denim.

The jeans are pretty long in length so if you are tall, you’re in luck. You will find these jeans are great on the length.  I stand 5 ‘10” and I like to get my jeans hemmed to the perfect length, that allows me to roll them up or cuff without making them look to bunchy,

The creative team behind Lock Sicker help you keep the jean true to their craftsmanship by providing you with a spool of their own thread so you don’t have to worry about the tailors trying to match the same color, you can provide them with it.

With this Raw Denim Challenge I have been given the task of keeping tabs on these jeans as I wear them for 6 months.  In that time I will keep note of any changes in color and fit, distressing from normal wear and tear, and overall look and feel.  A tip I learned from Molly, one of the creative forces behind the line and The Denim Guy is initially these jeans should feel tight, because with any good raw denim, they will slowly start to stretch and loosen up the more you wear them.
