The Denim Guy | The Denim Girl

I have always been a fan of Lucky Brand Jeans, and not just because it says “Lucky You” under the fly, but because they have always produced quality denim that fit great. Unfortunately, their 227 Original Boot Cut was NOT what I have come to expect from this brand. Compared to the rest of the denim I received during Reader Review, this has to be my least favorite pair. To sum it up in just a few words—the fit was so BAD! Granted, THE DENIM GUY did hand me about twelve pairs of slim and slim/straights, so I was used to a more fitted pair of denim, but the Lucky Brand Boot Cut was so incredibly baggy. It made the denim seem very out of date. Maybe I didn’t get the memo that baggy jeans are making a come back, but Lucky definitely should have slimmed up this boot cut.

Or….they should just call it a Baggy Boot Cut! At least then you know what you’re getting yourself into. Ha!

Honestly, the roominess in this particular pair of denim would make them perfect for doing yard work, painting, or lounging around at home and being lazy, but they are definitely not a dressy denim. They are not going to get you any second looks from the ladies! The Lucky Brand 227 Original Boot Cut is more of a, “I don’t care what I look like” denim, which we can all enjoy once in awhile. Overall, they are nice and relaxed in the leg and fit good in the waist, but they most likely will not be your favorite pair.
