I know how much you all love the reviews when 4 very different girls review the same exact denim. The readers will be reviewing: Genetic Denim Style/Cut: The Shane/Cigarette Cut

How it fits in the waist, crotch, butt and thighs ?

The length fits perfectly without looking too long or too short. The waist is perfect as well which really works out for me since I hate wearing belts (unless they are cute of course!), and I also hate denim that fits everywhere except the waist. I’m not a fan of constantly pulling up my pants or flashing people when I bend down. This denim doesn’t look too big on the butt and thigh area. It hugs my body in all the right places and makes my legs looks slimmer.

How would you style this denim?

I think this denim can be worn with anything! You can pair them with flats or sandals and you can even pair them with some cute heels and dress them up. I work with children so while at work heels are out of the question but running after the children I work with  (in flats of course!) was so much more comfortable in this denim! I’m a simple girl during the day and enjoy dressing up at night so during the day I would pair these Genetics with a simple tee-shirt and flats or sandals, and at night I would dress them up more with a cute pair of heels and a cute shirt and jacket!

How does the denim fit in the waist, crotch, butt and thighs?

The fit is done well, but I must say that the waist is a little low.  When standing and walking the fit looks fine, but when I sat down the waist did lower.  The Shane style is a straight leg look and the fit for my legs, thighs, and ankles were great. I am a curvy woman, so sometimes it may be difficult for denim to fit so well in all aspects, but Genetic does a fine job.

Where would you wear this denim to?

I definitely think that I could wear this denim out to dinner with a cute blouse and heels and I also think I could wear them out to a casual lunch. The denim definitely can be dressed up or down.

Were you familiar with the brand before the fitting?

I was not aware of the Genetic brand before The Denim Guy shared his love of them with me. Yet, because they do fit well, they will definitely be a brand I will be shopping for in the future. The stretch perfectly fits my curves.

How it fits in the waist, crotch, butt and thighs ?

Fit in the waist, crotch, butt and thighs is perfect! Fit in the knee is great and the ankles as well. It is a little hard to put socks on with the pants, but still manageable. Length is also perfect. The jeans are a little low in the back though, sitting down and getting up felt like I was giving everyone a free show to my goodies but the feel of the denim is absolutely amazing! I like it because they feel very similar to leggings.

Were you familiar with the brand before the fitting?

I had never heard of Genetic before my fitting, nor do I own any skinny jeans.  I was a little taken back when I was handed the pair to try on.  I always felt that skinny jeans were meant for women with “pin thin” legs.  Right when I put them on my first thought was “Wow…these feel like a second skin”.  They are beyond comfortable and I was so surprised that I didn’t feel self conscience in them at all.

I must admit before this review I had never heard of Genetic Denim, but boy am I glad I own a pair now.  They have officially become my favorite pair of denim—yes, they are that marvelous! I received a pair of The Shane which is a Cigarette cut jean. I was a bit skeptical when The Denim Guy handed me these because I am a thick and curvy Latina. He said, “trust me, you’ll love them.”  I did, hesitantly.

As I slid my legs in the jeans, I felt how flexible yet sturdy the denim was, it’s literally like a second skin.  I looked in the mirror—the waist was perfect, the crotch didn’t sag, my butt looked amazing, and my thighs looked smaller.  I was surprised the jeans hugged my ankle and knees like a glove, because when I have tried on other skinny jeans the knees and ankles usually stretch out and sag. The smoky wash on the jeans accentuated every curve I wanted it to and masked what I didn’t.

Since the photo shoot, I have worn this pair out to dinner and to the movies.  I have been able to style them up with a nice mid-length boot and flowy blouse and dress them down with a cute pair of flats and a white v-neck shirt.  They are truly versatile. My boyfriend loves them, he is always trying to get me in tighter jeans, he said they make my butt look great and thanks The Denim Guy for getting me to wear them.

Another thing I love about my Genetics is they do not loose their shape after you wear them.  So, I don’t have to wash them to shrink them back to their original shape.  I had another pair of jeans that are straight leg but I style them like skinny jeans because they are snug throughout my leg; but after one wear they are baggy.  I have retired those jeans, I’ll probably sell them at my next garage sale.

All in all, I was extremely happy with my fitting with The Denim Guy and am glad he convinced me to come out of my denim comfort zone to try this fabulous pair of Genetic Denim.  I would highly suggest every women buy a pair of these jeans!
