Vanessa, Joanne and Audrey reviewing the same cut of GENETIC DENIM
“If the personalized hand-written note from a Genetic Denim staff member was any indication of their commitment to honoring the individual rather than forcing her into the collective mold of the fashion industry, I should have known that Genetic’s cigarette jean The Shane would feel like they made it with me in mind”- JOANNE
The readers will be reviewing: Genetic Denim Style/Cut: The Shane/Cigarette Cut

Name: Vanessa
Age: 27
I have other pairs of skinny black jeans but after trying these on I doubt I’ll be wearing the others very often-The Shane just fits and looks so much better.

The fit of these jeans is perfect everywhere, but I wouldn’t expect any less from Genetic. I have another pair too and the fit is amazing-its one of my favorite pairs of existing denim and I wear it often. The Shane is awesome because its fitted and flattering, yet its super comfortable. I love that it doesn’t bunch around the calf/ankle area.

I loved all the denim that The Denim Guy selected for me, but this piece in particular will be a great addition to my wardrobe because I know I’ll get lots of use out of it and be able to pair it with a lot of things I already own.

If the personalized hand-written note from a Genetic Denim staff member was any indication of their commitment to honoring the individual rather than forcing her into the collective mold of the fashion industry, I should have known that Genetic’s cigarette jean The Shane (the first pair of skinny leg denim I’ve ever tried on) would feel like they made it with me in mind. If you were to ask me a few weeks ago if I could ever see myself strutting around in this type of denim, with my rotund bottom and muscular thighs packed inside the confines of stretch jeans, I would have probably answered, “Yeah right!â€
You see, if you know me at all and my conservative tomboyish sense of style, you would know that slim, form-fitting attire – especially in denim form – is hardly part of my wardrobe. But with The Denim Guy as one of my oldest friends, it’s impossible to maintain a friendship with him for this long without being somewhat adventurous and open to his fashionable suggestions.

So no sooner had he tossed The Shane in my direction than I found myself standing with them on, pleasantly surprised as to how comfortable the denim wrapped around my legs. Sure, the feeling was different than what I’ve been used to, having worn mostly boot cut and flared denim, but it was certainly a feeling that channeled the inner-fashionista in me. And after glancing in the mirror, I realized that, “Hey, I actually like the way I look in these.â€
I didn’t feel suffocated, nor did I feel my movements being restricted in the knee or ankle areas. Not to mention Genetic used the softest denim imaginable, that if The Denim Guy suggested sleeping in them, I probably would. I was so comfortable, in fact, that after prancing around, doing a few jumping jacks, and cartwheels through The Denim Guy’s studio, I was sold on my first pair of stretch denim.
Needless to say, if you appreciate clothing that feels like a second skin and makes easy for any individual to live fashionably out loud, Genetic Denim is the way to go.

NAME: AUDREY AGE: 22
Hello! My name is Audrey Armada and I’m 22 years young. Currently I am a student at Long Beach City College studying marketing and to make a living I work as a server and a nanny.

I felt like Audrey Hepburn in that Gap commercial a couple years ago when I first put this denim on. It’s so light and soft I feel like I could go to gym class in them. They fit me great on the hips, a little looser so I don’t have any issues with “muffin top” the butt of the denim is my favorite part! It’s got a great stretch to it so it fits me tight on the thighs and roomie in the butt area. It’s my first pair of black denim and I must say it made me feel like a movie star wearing them. They’re skinny jeans and when I wore them to a Christmas dinner party and wore stilettos and a sequined top. I got a great reaction from them, especially because I never wear black denim.
