WE LOVE: IDOL RADEC
Idol Radec was founded in 2006 with the objective of creating well-made contemporary American menswear. David Hickman, Nick Thomas, and Scott Barclay set out to represent classical American fashion from a modern California perspective. The history and emergence of Hollywood glamour, western bravado and the Malibu surf movement are reflected in all their designs.
These historical influences are the foundation of Idol Radec’s sensibility. Idol Radec launched their men’s line in Spring 2008. Guided by the subcultures of California, Idol Radec produces traditional menswear that is known for its subtle detail and purposeful design. The designers have no formal training in fashion, which allows them to ignore rules and pay more attention to the integrity of their geographical and historical perspectives. This is manifested in the fabrics, construction, and fit of each piece. They have a deep-rooted belief in creating clothes that withstand the tests of time.  Rather than starting the design process from pen to paper, Idol Radec begins from cloth to garment, which allows them to perfect the best fit and function into every design.
Autumn/Winter 2009:
Idol Radec’s Autumn/Winter 2009 collection was deeply inspired by the late Sir Edmund Hillary, who was the embodiment of elegance and ruggedness.  Every fabric and style encompasses this modern trailblazer and his expeditions. Each aspect of the collection from fabric design to construction is true to Mr. Hillary’s pursuit of greater heights.
Love it? Like it? Want it?
Then you know what to do… leave a comment and ill pass it to Nick and David for you!
