At the age of 25 Chloe Lonsdale revived Made in Heaven, the company set up by her godfather in 1969, with one goal: to re-establish it as the premium British jeans brand. At 28, she is now well on her way to achieving this, with every major fashion magazine hailing its modern reincarnation, MiH Jeans as the brand to wear.
Chloe has denim in her blood: her father Tony founded the Jean Machine, the first British denim emporium with 150 stores in its 70s heyday, and her mother Chekkie Maskell was a top model, even wearing the original Made in Heaven designs. Chloe, along with her three sisters, grew up in denim, dividing their father’s precious vintage stock and showing their early entrepreneurial streak by selling the surplus jeans to friends at a profit. Chloe’s father himself wore jeans every day (even to weddings and funerals) and regularly serenaded his girls with his favorite song, Neil Diamond’s ‘Forever in Blue Jeans’.
After completing her schooling at Bedales and her BA degree in Womenswear Design at Central St Martins, London, Chloe began work at Nicole Farhi, first as assistant to Nicole and later working on the successful ‘Farhi’ jeans line and 212 shop. Here she learned many of the fundamental skills required to run a successful business and was ready when the opportunity arose to revive Made in Heaven.

The best part of winter is when it ends and what better way to celebrate than to buy some new digs for your closet. Diesel stores are just hanging the new spring 2010 collection including the Five Pocket denim collection. Tapered, skinny, boot cut or straight leg Diesel has the fit for you, now you just have to settle on the perfect wash. Diesel makes that easy with the Diesel Blue Icons collection that shows the creative force behind Diesel denim.
Below are just two of the innovative washes from the Blue Icons series:
Viker 8A7 $320
The Viker is one of the oldest and best selling models at Diesel because of its outstanding fit, a classic straight leg. The Viker 8A7 is a testament to Diesel remaining a denim king, sporting an age-old blue wash with deconstructed patches to give it a rugged weathered look.

Thanaz 8B5 $250
The Thanaz is a slim skinny fit perfect for a guy dedicated to the skinny jean trend. The Thanaz has a slightly lower waist with a semi low crotch to give a manly amount of style not to be confused with the metrosexual look that was so last season! The 8B5 has undergone several different treatments including sandpaper, stone and bleaching to give it the perfect old school light color.

Items above available at Diesel stores nationwide and www.diesel.com

Only Europe make WRANGLER look so good!

Wrangler Spring/Summer 2010 is fresh vintage denim, Vegas Heat and the thrill of the outdoors. The collections celebrate life lived full throttle. The season opens with Ride Wild, a collection of vibrant vintage-inspired styles that build on Wrangler’s status as the original outdoor denim brand. Bluest blue denim jeans are worn with slim shirts or trampled Tees. Summer black, and gray-black, herald an alternative image. Washes are worn and dusty, authentically vintage in look and feel. Jeans’ fits have advanced big-time. Key products for S/S 10 in men’s are three core cuts. The Spencer is a perfect slim, Ace a regular-straight, and the Crank is an exquisitely modern fit with a low-rise and straight leg.
The second delivery, 1947, is inspired by tough workwear, the engineer as artist. These are hard-wearing clothes in a soft palette of gray, brown and blue, the sort of kit that Jack Kerouac and Jackson Pollock wore, and directly referencing Wrangler’s role supplying workwear to the US military in the 1940s.
51st Star, the third segment, is full of bang and flash: light, bright clothes for a hot party night. The legendary rivalry between motorcycle stunt riders Evel Knievel and Eddie Kidd supplies the driving image. Think starlets and fireworks, red, white & blue, sharp contrasts.

Here are some picture CXXVI from CLASS Santa Monica. I just love this line because it remind me of my days in New York!
Check it out people!

In July 2008, Current/Elliott was born when the stylist duo of Emily Current and Meritt Elliott met with friend and visionary Serge Azria. The two parties learned they shared a similar vision of a new denim concept! With Serge’s tremendous expertise and passion for globally innovative ideas and organically inspired projects, coupled with the girls’ original style, a magical alliance was born!
Today that brand is known as CURRENT/ELLIOTT!
CURRENT/ELLIOT made it BIG for two major reasons:
1. Re-introduced the boyfriend cut denim during a time when everything was about skinny & slim cuts with dark washes.
2. The line is celebrity driven. The brand is very popular with high profile celebrities. And we all know that celebrities help sell denim.
Personally… I love the line. I enjoy the “boyfriend” style cuts and the light distressed washes. I am very interested to see how the line will grow, develop, and change over the next few seasons in order to stay ahead of the fashion curve!

The Big Star Brand brings vintage to the forefront this season with the launch of ‘Big Star Vintage,’ a collection comprised of jeans with modern silhouettes and masterful, handcrafted washes that replicate true, vintage jeans. The collection was showcased at the February Project Show in Las Vegas and was a huge hit due to its premium quality and realistic price point.

While selling jeans was the focus of the show, the Big Star team also had another goal: Helping Haiti. The interior and exterior walls of the Big Star booth were decorated with real dollar bills (with a few hundreds mixed in!) and a contribution container was set up in front of the booth. Over the course of the 3 day show, owner Yul Ku and his Big Star team would peel dollars off of the booth and deposit them in the containers, hoping to encourage customers to donate as well. All too often, these tragic disasters are forgotten about a few weeks after the destruction, and people are left to struggle alone with the catastrophic repercussions. Big Star wants to keep this tragedy fresh in people’s thoughts, and continue to support those who have lost their homes, family members and way of life. The money collected totaled approximately $13,500 and will be donated to the American Red Cross’s disaster relief fund for Haiti.

I have a top 4 of denim that I always wear and wanted to share with you one of my top 4.
AG’s THE PROTÉGÉ 15 years
I love this pair for a number of reasons…
1. The Wash/Finish: Aged, Vintage Denim is making a come back and AG is doing an AMAZING job with the AG-ED Denim!
2. The Fit: The Protege fit is one of my top picks because, for me, it fits perfectly in the thighs!
3. The Length (inseam): I DO NOT LIKE TO ALTER MY DENIM! NEVER! So I normally just deal with the denim being long. Why? Got me…I just feel that when you alter them you take something way from the denim. With a 32.5′ inseam the length is not an issue at all for me!

THE PROTEGE
15 Years
Straight Leg. Every guy needs a straight leg jean. A proper jean for any occasion, dressed up or dressed down.
Are you looking for that one, perfectly worn-in and faded pair of jeans? AG-ed denim is handcrafted to replicate a true vintage jean offered in a naturally aged appearance by 1 thru 30 years (select years offered seasonally). This new wash process uses revolutionary technology and is the first in the market developed in the US, to achieve an authentic look of natural variations of wear and tear made especially to wear more over time. No two pairs of jeans are alike in this collection!
Front Rise 9.75″
Back Rise 14.75″
Leg Opening 18″
Inseam 32.5″
12.5 oz. Guild Denim
100% Cotton
